I apologize for being scarce here recently. I’ve been really busy working on a project that was monopolizing most of my time up until a few days ago. Now that it’s wrapped up, I’ll have time to not only start posting here again more regularly, but to actually make some cards again. LOL
Right now, some of you may be thinking, “hey, haven’t I seen that card already?” Well, yes and no. I created a similar card a few weeks ago as part of the CASE-ing Christmas class over at Stamp Nation. I actually had a piece of the blue handmade glitter paper left over from the earlier card, so I decided to put it to use on another card with a slight variation.
I adhered the thin strip of silver glitter paper from DWCV to my piece of blue handmade glitter paper using some 1/8″ Scor-Tape. I then adhered the combined glitter piece to my Neenah 110 lb card base using some 1/4″ Score-Tape.
On the previous card, I used a holiday sentiment from one of the stamp sets in my collection. For this card, I really wanted to have a German holiday sentiment since I will be giving this card to my boss and his wife who happens to be German. She immigrated here about three years ago when they got married, so I thought it would be a nice touch to add a German sentiment on their card.
Since I don’t have any German stamp sets, I did a Google search on how to say Merry Christmas in German. I used the Milo’s ABCs alphabet stamp set from Lawn Fawn to create the sentiment. After triple checking to make sure I had everything spelled correctly, I stamped it on my card base using some Black Onyx VersaFine ink. To complete the sentiment, I used my 0.3 Copic Multiliner to add the umlaut over the letter O.
I’m really pleased with how it turned out. I hope she’ll like it!
Until next time …
