After posting my Just a Note card yesterday for the current StampNation challenge, I realized I completely forgot to post my challenge card for last week. The challenge was to create a card using black OR white, but not both. Given most of my cards incorporate both, this challenge was much more difficult than I anticipated. I kept finding myself reaching for black elements. LOL
To create this card, I used the tinted embossing past I had left over from the card I made for Card Tag. I applied it using one of the stencils from the Happy Patterns Decorative Mask set from Stampin’ Up!® Since the pattern kind of reminded me of rows of birthday candles, I decided to create a birthday card.
I used a stamp from the HB2U set from Sugar Pea Designs that was part of the Stamp of Approval Young at Heart Collection for the sentiment. I stamped it on vellum and then heat embossed it in gold. I wrapped the vellum around the embossing paste panel and then matted it with a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock. I then adhered everything to an A2 top-folding card base.
I finished off the card by adding a spattering of 5mm and 8mm crystal sequins. I added a small rhinestone in the center or the 8mm sequins and a dab of Stardust Stickles in the center of the 5mm sequins.
Until next time …
