Lawnscaping Challenge: Color Splash

I’m playing along today with the new challenge over on the Lawnscaping Challenges blog. The current challenge is to make a black & white card with a splash of color. Here’s the card I created:

I decided to keep things very clean & simple on this card. I started by stamping the word Hello on my white card panel using the Lawn Fawn Quinn’s ABCs upper and lower case stamp sets using black ink. I then stamped it a second time on the piece of mint polka dot patterned paper from the Let’s Polka, Mon Amie petite paper pack, also from Lawn Fawn.

I fussy cut the letters stamped on the patterned paper then went over all the edges with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker. I adhered them over the stamped letters on the white panel using some Multi Medium Matte. I then covered the letters with a layer of clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen.

I rounded the corners of the white panel using the 1/4″ side of my Corner Chomper. I did the same thing on a piece of black cardstock cut 1/8″ larger than the white panel. I adhered the white panel to the black panel using dry adhesive. I wrapped the panel three times with some black & white baker’s twine then finished it off with a bow. I used foam tape to adhere my completed panel to an A2 side-folding card base which I had also rounded the corners on using the 1/4″ corner rounder.

Until next time …

Very cute card! I really love the layout and the twine is my favorite! Thanks so much for playing the Lawnscaping Challenge.
