A friend of mine (who happens to love pink) has a birthday coming up next week. I decided to make a 3″ square card to include with her gift. I’m still in a bit of a floral kick after the milk glass floral design I created yesterday which lead me to this design.
The floral image is from the Stampin’ Up!® Painted Petals stamp set which has sadly been retired. I love this set so much! I stamped the flowers in Pink Pirouette using my MISTI stamping tool. This allowed me to stamp the image twice to intensify the pink color a bit. I stamped the stems using Pear Pizzazz. Since I wanted a softer green color for them, I stamped off once before stamping on my project. For a little bit of bling, I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella over the flowers.
I stamped the sentiment in Pink Pirouette on a piece of 1/2″ wide cardstock using the hello stamp from the A Dozen Thoughts set. I trimmed the cardstock to be the same width as my largest white layer on my focal image then cut fishtails on each end. To dress it up a bit, I added a medium pearl on either side of the sentiment.
I repeated the floral design on the inside of the card. I wanted a more subtle look than the image on the front of the card, so I didn’t double stamp the flowers for the inside. Since I used Pink Pirouette ink, it’s soft enough that I could write over it and still have my handwriting be legible.
I’m entering this card in the following challenges:
- CAS Colours & Sketches – the current theme is a sketch challenge.
- Addicted to CAS – the current theme is Gift.
- SU Only Challenge – the current theme is Welcome Spring.
Until next time …
