I’m pleased to be participating today in Kylie‘s latest International Stampin’ Up!® Blog Highlight. It’s the opportunity for Stampin’ Up Demonstrators from around the world to come together and showcase our work around a particular theme. This time, the theme is love.
For this CAS (clean and simple) card, I started by taking a small strip Shimmery White cardstock and stamping the striped heart image from the Pictogram Punches stamp set seven times in rainbow colors. For this I used colors from the Brights collection — Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, and Rich Razzleberry. Once stamped, I used the Aqua Painter and just randomly added water over the top to loosen up the ink and fill in the areas that weren’t stamped with a loose wash of color then set them aside to dry.
In the meantime, I created an A2 card base from the Shimmery White card stock. About a third of the way up from the bottom of the card, I stamped the diagonal striped image from the Gorgeous Grunge set across the front of the card using Basic Black Archival ink. I then masked off everything from the stripe down using just a scrap piece of copy paper and stamped the speckled background image from the same set a couple of times. I did this in a random pattern rotating the stamp in all directions to create a nice backdrop for where my rainbow-colored hearts would eventually be. I just love the graphic punch of a black and white card with pops of bright color!
By this time, the hearts were dry, so I cut them out using the coordinating punch from the Itty Bitty Accents punch set. I adhered them to my card by alternating between gluing them directly to the card base with liquid glue and popping them up on half a Stampin’ Dimensional.
For the sentiment, I took a scrap piece of the Shimmery White cardstock and stamped the banner from the Number of Years stamp set and added the words Love and You from the Crazy About You stamp set inside the banner. I cut it out on my Big Shot using the coordinating die. I placed it on my card base to use as a placement guide then stamped the So Much image from Crazy About You directly on the card base just below the striped border. I finished the card by adhering my banner on top of the diagonal stripe using Dimensionals.
I really hope you’ve enjoyed my card today. If so, I would really appreciate if you would stop by the blog linkup on Kylie’s site and give me your vote. Thanks in advance if you do!
