For today’s card, I decided to extend the challenge I was given yesterday by Ingrid and use another stamp from my collection I’ve never used. Since the 2014-2016 In Colors from Stampin’ Up!® will be retiring in just a few weeks when the new catalog is released, I decided to use those for my design as well before they’re gone for good. Here’s the card I created.
The stamp set I hadn’t used before was this background stamp called Hardwood. I can’t believe I haven’t used it before now because it’s awesome! I started by creating an A2 top-folding card base using Hello Honey cardstock. Using my MISTI, I then stamped the Hardwood image using Hello Honey ink because I wanted a monochromatic background. I added a layer using some of the 2014-2016 In Color Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Whisper White cardstock. I added a snippet of a tea lace paper doily as an accent in keeping with the sketch.
For the sentiment, I stamped one of the thank you images from the One Big Meaning stamp set on Whisper White cardstock using Mossy Meadow, another 2014-2016 In Color. I cut it out using the 2″ circle punch then layered it on a piece Mossy Meadow DSP cut using the 2-3/8″ scalloped circle punch. To give it a little sparkle, I traced over the letters using my clear Wink of Stella pen then finished it off with a scattering of rhinestones.
I’m entering this card in the following challenges:
- Global Design Project – the current theme is a sketch challenge.
- Less is More – the current theme is white space, but not white.
Until next time …
