Brooke, a long-time blogging friend of mine, and her husband are expecting their first child. They recently found out they’re having a baby girl, so I decided to use the new Little Bundle stamp set from Lawn Fawn to create a baby girl themed card to send and congratulate them.
I wanted to paper piece the little dress using one of the papers from the Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pack, also from Lawn Fawn. Since I wanted the dress to be my focal image and it’s such a small image, I decided to keep everything else very simple to allow the little dress to be the star of the show.
I cut a layering panel of white cardstock and stamped the sentiments near the center bottom of the card in black ink. Next, I stamped the little dress image just above the sentiment. I also stamped it a second time on the Jessica plaid from the paper pack.
On the white layering panel, I colored the little belt on the dress using my Copic markers. I then added to the pieces of the dress that I fussy cut from the plaid paper and adhered them to the layering panel using liquid glue. I added a layer of Crystal Effects (similar to Glossy Accents) over the belt to give it a bit of a patent leather look (hopefully!) then set it aside to dry.
When the Glossy Accents was dry, I added horizontal lines on either side of the “baby girl” sentiment using my t-square and a .03 Copic multiliner. I wrapped the layering panel with some pink and white twine from Doodlebug Designs and added three small pearls from Stampin’ Up!® beneath it. To finish off the card, I rounded the lower corners of the layering panel and adhered it with foam tape to an A2 top-folding card base made from Blushing Bride cardstock, also from Stampin’ Up, which also had the lower corners rounded.
I’m entering this card in the following challenges:
- CASology – the current theme is pink.
- AAA Cards – the current theme is anything goes.
- Curtain Call – the current theme is simplicity.
Until next time …
