A new event kicked off over at StampNation on Monday. It’s called Inspiration Nation and a new mood board is presented by the Dream Team every day this week as inspiration for members to create projects (cards, mixed media, scrapbooking, etc.). Here’s the card I created based on the day one mood board.
I started with an A2 horizontal card base. I stamped the swirly/streamer image from the Age Awareness stamp set (retiring) from Stampin’ Up!® using Crumb Cake ink which I stamped off twice before stamping on my card base. I added a couple of strips of washi near the bottom of the card. I used a couple of the tapes in the Epic Day Designer Washi Tape collection (discontinued). I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Number of Years stamp set on a 1/2″ wide strip of white cardstock then created fishtail ends on it using the banner punch (retiring). I adhered it on top of the washi tape strips using Dimensionals.
To a bit of bling to my card, I stamped the decorative balloon image from the Balloon Celebration stamp set on some Calypso Coral and Mint Macaron cardstock using VersaMark ink then heat embossed them with gold embossing powder. I cut the balloons out using the Balloon Bouquet punch. Both the Balloon Celebration stamp set and Balloon Bouquet punch will be carrying over to the new catalog, but the 15% off bundle option will be retiring.
I used some Gold Metallic Thread to create strings for my balloons. I folded it in half a couple of times then looped it around the base of each balloon. I adhered the balloons to the card using liquid glue. I also put some of the liquid glue on my thumb and forefinger and ran it along the gold thread so I could adhere it to the card. Once it was dry, I snipped off the excess thread along the bottom edge of the card.
I’m entering this card in the following challenges:
- CASology – the current theme is move. My interpretation is the floating balloons and falling streamers on the background.
- Stamp, Ink, Paper – the current theme is a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge. I’m using the center horizontal line (bling, birthday, balloons).
Until next time …
