Today was a very exciting day around here. I received my order from the new Stampin’ Up 2016-2017 annual catalog and couldn’t wait to start playing!
I decided to start with the adorable Bella & Friends stamp set because my upline (Angie from Chic ‘n Scratch) helped design it. It was one of the perks she received for passing one million dollars in career sales with Stampin’ Up. I also used the Pretty Kitty stamp set since they work so well together. Here’s the card I made.
I stamped the images on a piece of white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black. I then added the sentiment using Basic Black ink. I used my Mini Misti for this step to ensure I got everything lined up evenly. Once I had everything stamped, I colored the the images using my Copic markers. Here are the colors I used for each element:
- W3, W1, and W00 for the dog
- YR12, YR14, YR16, and R21 for the cat
- R24, R27, and R39 for the bow and collar
- BG0000 and the Colorless Blender for the sky
- YG13, YG11, YG00 and the Colorless Blender for the grass.
Once I had everything colored, I cut out the images using one of the new Layering Squares Framelits dies. I also used one of the scalloped squares from the same set to cut a mat from Peekaboo Peach cardstock. I also created a banner to go behind my focal image. It’s cut from a 1.5″ wide piece of the Peekaboo Peach DSP from the new In Color DSP Stack. I just used my scissors to add a simple fishtail to the bottom end.
I adhered all my layers then attached everything to an A2 top-folding card base. To finish off the card, I added some clear Wink of Stella to the kitty’s bow and dog’s collar. I also used a black gel pen to go over the eyes on both critters as well as on the dog’s nose and eyebrows. It just gives them a bit of shine a little dimension.
Until next time …
