As you may remember from my post last week, I’m currently recovering from a pulmonary embolism. A couple of days after I was released from the hospital, my boss and his wife sent me some beautiful flowers to cheer me up as I’m recovering. Naturally, I created a thank you card to send them.
I used the August limited edition Thoughtful Branches stamp set from Stampin’ Up!® for this quick clean and simple (CAS) card. I inked up the trees using Stampin’ Write markers in Old Olive for the branches and Soft Suede for the trunks. I also used Old Olive for the ground beneath the trees.
Once the ink was dry, I went over the tree trunk area with an Embossing Buddy to prep my paper for some heat embossing. I stamped the thank you sentiment using Versamark ink then heat set it using gold embossing powder.
I used the Layering Ovals Framelits to create the focal point for my card. I cut the stamped image from the second largest plain oval. For the mat, I cut a piece of Old Olive cardstock using the largest scalloped oval. I adhered the stamped oval to the mat using some liquid glue then added the combined matted layer to the card base using Dimensionals. To finish off the card, I added a small twine bow using a mini glue dot.
I’m entering this card in the following challenge:
- Simon Says Stamp Wednesday – the current theme is let’s go wild. My interpretation is trees are wildlife habitat.
Until next time …
