2016 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

It’s time for another round of the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop over at the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog. I think this is my fourth time participating in the hop. Being someone who LOVES coffee, it’s always so much fun to hop around and see all the fun coffee-themed cards everyone has created. There are also lots of great sponsors and giveaways, so be sure to stop by and check it out.

For my card in the hop, I used the Caffeine Addict stamps and coordinating Coffee to Go Cup dies from SugarPea Designs (a sponsor of the hop). Since the dies are solid backs, I did the die cutting first then stamped the images using my Mini Misti to get everything lined up correctly. I did all the stamping on the coffee cup pieces using Early Espresso ink from Stampin’ Up

The sentiment is from the Sweater Weather stamp set from Lawn Fawn (also a sponsor of the hop). I also stamped it using the Early Espresso ink. The stamp comes as a single horizontal sentiment, so I did a little stamp surgery. I cut it in the middle to create separate words so I could center them on the coffee sleeve. This doesn’t hurt the stamp in any way and I can easily just align back up in the original orientation if I ever want to use it that way.

Once I had all the cup pieces stamped, I adhered them together using liquid glue. To give the cup a bit of dimension, I sponged around all the edges using Crumb Cake ink from Stampin’ Up.

For the main panel on my card, I decided to emboss some leaves in gold, silver, and copper on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock from Stampin’ Up. I thought these colors of embossing really gave the leaves a very autumnal look. The leaf images are also from the Sweater Weather stamp set by Lawn Fawn. All of the embossing powders I used are from Brutus Monroe.

To assemble the card, I started with a top-folding A2 card base created from Very Vanilla cardstock from Stampin’ Up. Since my Crumb Cake layer got a bit warped from the heat embossing, I adhered it to the card base using Tear & Tape adhesive since it has a really strong hold. I then adhered the coffee cup using some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

In addition to the blog hop, I’m also entering this card in the following challenges:

Until next time …

Great little coffee card Melissa! The patterned paper in orange on the cup is a great fall touch, and the background of falling leaves adds a nice element. Thanks so much for joining us this week in our Monday challenge at Simon Says Stamp! hugs, Maura
