I’m still on a roll creating cards using the new Stamp of Approval Candy Cane Lane collection from Catherine Pooler. After creating the shaker card I posted yesterday, I had all those cute leftover candy cane die cuts. Obviously, I didn’t want them to go to waste, so I used them to create a second card.
I started by stamping the candy cane die cuts with the coordinating stamps from the Candy Cane Lane stamp set included in the collection. To make sure I got things lined up properly, I used my Mini Misti to stamp everything.I stamped the large candy cane using Gumball Pink ink from Ranger. I stamped the two smaller candy canes and bow using Mermaid ink from Lawn Fawn. Once I had all of them stamp, I added a coat of clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen over all of them and set them aside to dry.
In the meantime, I created a top-folding A2 card base from a heavyweight cardstock. I used the “Eat Drink and Be Merry” sentiment from the Candy Cane Lane stamp set. I masked over the word merry with a sticky note when I inked up the stamp. I removed the sticky note then stamped the sentiment in the lower right hand corner of the card base. I then adhered a “Merry” die cut that was also leftover from the shaker card.
Once I had my card base done, I turned my focus back to the candy canes. I adhered them together in a cluster using glue dots then added the bow on top of that using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I adhered them to the card base using some liquid glue which completed the quick & easy CAS card.
