A Colorful Christmas

One of the things I love to do is showcase different ways to use the same stamps and supplies to create multiple looks. With that in mind, I wanted to duplicate the same basic design of the card I shared yesterday, but this time do it in a more colorful version using the traditional red and green colors of Christmas.

Once again, I started by creating a card base from Thick Whisper White cardstock from Stampin’ Up!® I created the background by masking off the sentiment space then used the same stencil and glitter paste as yesterday’s card, but this time I tinted the glitter paste using Fiesta Blue ink from Catherine Pooler Designs. To do this, I pulled out my craft sheet and swiped the ink pad onto the craft sheet to get some of the color then scooped out a bit of the glitter paste onto it. I used a palette knife to mix the ink into the glitter paste until I had the color I wanted. I then used the palette knife to apply the tinted paste to the card base through the stencil. Once I had the glitter paste stenciled it on, I set it aside to dry.

In the meantime, I stamped the same wreath and bow I used yesterday on some regular Whisper White cardstock using more of Catherine’s inks (currently available exclusively in the Foundations Box). I stamped the wreath using Grass Skirt and the bow using Rockin’ Red. Once I had the images stamped, I cut them out using the coordinating dies.

After the glitter paste was dry, I stamped my sentiment on the card base. The sentiment is from the Hang Your Stocking stamp set from Stampin’ Up. I stamped it in Rockin’ Red to match the bow on my wreath. To complete the card, I adhered the bow to the wreath using mini glue dots then adhered the wreath to the card base using Dimensionals.

I’m entering this card in the following challenge:

Until next time …
