For those of us in the United States, today is our Thanksgiving holiday. To all those celebrating, I hope you have a wonderful day and take some time out from the food and football to reflect on all the blessings in your life. In terms of my blog, I’m grateful for each and every one of you read, comment, and send emails. I truly appreciate it and want to take a moment on this Thanksgiving Day to say thank you.
For this card, I started by stamping the coffee cup image from Hero Arts on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock from Stampin’ Up!®. I stamped it in my Mini Misti using the Vintage Metallic Rust ombre ink pad. I then stamped the image again using VersaMark ink and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. I then stamped a sentiment from the Foliage Fancy stamp set by Penny Black using Memento Rich Cocoa ink.
Next, I used one of the dies from the Wavy Scallop Stitches die set from Simon Says Stamp to add a decorative edge to the panel. I also added the die for the coffee cup lid in the portion of the Very Vanilla that was being cut off so I could die cut that piece in the same run. Once I was finished die cutting, I stamped the coffee cup lid image onto the lid dit cut using Memento Rich Cocoa ink then added a bit of shading using W3, W1, and W00 Copic markers. For a bit of bling, I added a coat of clear Sparkle pen to the lid.
To assemble my card, I created an A2 top-folding card base from Very Vanilla cardstock. I adhered a piece of patterned paper from the Perfectly Plaid Fall Petite Paper Stack from Lawn Fawn to the front of the card using tape runner. Before adding the focal layer to the card, I wrapped some gold baker’s twine from Stampin’ Up around the top of the layer and tied it off in a simple bow. I then adhered the layer to my card using Dimensionals. To finish the card, I added a few Autumn Harvest sequins from Pretty Pink Posh in both the 4mm and 6mm sizes using mini glue dots.
I’m entering this card in the following challenges:
- TGIF Challenges – the current theme is an inspiration challenge. I was inspired by the colors and fall foliage.
- Addicted to CAS – the current theme is ombre.
- Addicted to Stamps and More – the current theme is anything goes.
- A Blog Named Hero – the November theme is holiday (my interpretation is Thanksgiving).
Until next time …
