Merry Medley in Gold

Before I get to my card today, I wanted to take a moment to share some big news. I’m thrilled to be joining several extremely talented ladies as a Guest Designer for the upcoming release of the new Foundations Box coming from Catherine Pooler . There will be a two-day blog hop on Monday and Tuesday leading up to the official launch on Wednesday, Nov. 16 in Catherine’s online store.

Now, on to my latest design. The card I’m sharing today actually went together quite quickly. I used a large background stamp from Stampin’ Up!® It was definitely the focal point of this card, so there wasn’t a lot of embellishment required. I love quick & easy cards!

Please pardon the glare in my photos today. Photographing a card with this much shine wasn’t easy! LOL

For the focal panel, I started with a piece of Very Vanilla card. I stamped the Merry Medley background image using VersaMark ink then heat embossed it in gold. Once it had cooled, I trimmed my panel down to 3-3/4 x 5″ and matted it using a piece of gold foil paper cut to 4 x 5-1/4″. Since the fold is a bit of a slippery surface, I used Fast Fuse to adhere my focal panel since it’s such a strong adhesive.

The panel was feeling a little plain, I decided to add the baker’s twine. I wrapped some of the gold baker’s twine from the holiday catalog around the card three times then finished it off with a bow and trimmed the excess.

To finish the card, I created an A2 top-folding card base from a some Very Vanilla cardstock. I adhered the focal panel to my card base with some Dimensionals to give the panel a bit of “pop” off the card.

I’m entering this card in the following challenge:

Until next time …
