Merry Medley Variation

I had such a great time creating the card I posted yesterday, I decided to CASE myself and make a second card in non-traditional colors. Even though I used the same Merry Medley stamp set, this card definitely has a much different look and feel.

I started by creating a top-folding card base from Bermuda Bay card stock from Stampin’ Up!® For the background of my card, I used a piece of designer series paper from the Serene Scenery stack. This stack definitely isn’t intended for Christmas cards, but I just loved the subtle pattern of the paper I selected and thought it would work well as a backdrop for the Merry Medley background stamp. I stamped the image using VersaMark ink then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder.

For the main sentiment, I used a stamp from the Holly Jolly Layers set which is one of the current hostess sets available with Stampin’ Rewards. I stamped it on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using Bermuda Bay ink then cut it out using the Layering Squares Framelits. I created a mat for the sentiment from Bermuda Bay card stock by cutting a slightly larger scalloped sqaure using the same die set. I adhered the matted sentiment to the card using Dimensionals.

I’m entering this card in the following challenges:

Please don’t forget to stop back tomorrow. I’ll be participating in a very special blog hop for the new Foundations Box launching on Wednesday from Catherine Pooler Designs.

Until then …
