Sweet Notecard (feat. Stitched Shapes Framelits)

In case you haven’t heard already, Stampin’ Up!® just launched a new set of Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. The set contains 12 dies made up of four nesting dies each in circle, square, and oval shapes. If you already own our Layering shapes dies, you’ll likely want to grab a set of these new shaped dies as well because they coordinate beautifully!

Here’s a super quick notecard I created this afternoon after my order arrived. One of the things I love about this little notecard is the fact it could easily be used as a holiday card, a thank you card, or even just a general all occasion card this winter.

Mel's Card Corner | Sweet Notecard

For the base of the card, I used one of our 3.5 x 5″ notecards. They make creating quick cards a breeze because they’re already cut, scored, and even include an envelope! Each package includes 20 notecards and envelopes for $6 and are available in both Whisper White and Crumb Cake.  For a bit of interest, I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Candy Cane Lane collection to 3.25 x 4.75″ and adhered it to the front of the notecard using tape runner. Love those adorable little gingerbread men!

For the focal image, I stamped a sentiment from the Suite Seasons stamp set. To get the two different colors, I inked the stamp up with Real Red and Early Espresso Stampin’ Write markers. (If you don’t own the full sets of our markers, another option would be using the Real Red and Crumb Cake 2-pack available in the holiday catalog which I’ll link below.) I did the step using my Mini Misti so I would be able to double stamp and get a nice crisp image.

After completing the stamping, I cut out the sentiment using the second smallest stitched circle from the new Stitched Shapes set. I then pulled a coordinating scalloped circle from the Layering Circles set and cut it using Real Red cardstock. I adhered the stitched circle to the scalloped circle using tape runner. I added a bit of Fast Fuse adhesive on the back of the scalloped circle and adhered some Real Red ribbon. I accidentally grabbed some retired ribbon, but I link to a very similar one below that’s from the current catalog. To complete the card, I added the focal image to the front of the notecard using some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I’m entering this card in the following challenges:
