One Layer Simplicity

I was saddened to see a couple of days ago one of my favorite challenge blogs, One Layer Simplicity, has decided to close. I’ve enjoyed participating a few times, but really loved looking at the designs posted by others as well. The challenge was the brainchild of Susan Raihala, one of the queens of clean and simple designs, in my opinion.

One Layer Simplicity Highlight

I was honored to be selected as one of their highlight cards for the final challenge. It was my Blue Christmas card from last week. Thanks so much for highlighting my card, DT!

I’m gradually starting to feel a bit better from this crazy flu (or whatever it is I have). I’m still not feeling up to spending a whole lot of time at my craft table yet as I’m still feeling pretty weak, but I did manage to sit down this morning and make a quick card. I decided to use the peace theme from the final challenge at One Layer Simplicity again as a way to say thanks to them for hosting the challenge the past three years.

I used some Thick Whisper White cardstock from Stampin’ Up!® for the card base. The stamped images are from the Holly Jolly Greetings set, also by Stampin’ Up. I began by stamping the snowflake using Pink Pirouette ink. Next, I inked up the sentiment images first in VersaMark then in Tempting Turquoise. I added some clear embossing powder then heat set it.

Beautiful card. Jut beautiful. I think CAS cards are my favorite. Great layout and color choices as well. Thank you for joining us at Stamp, Ink, Paper this week.

This is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! I love the pink and turquoise combination. The embossing on the sentiment gives it the perfect amount of “bold”. I love it! Thanks for taking “Time Out” to play our Christmas challenge. Stephanie L, Time Out Design Team Member.
