I was saddened to see a couple of days ago one of my favorite challenge blogs, One Layer Simplicity, has decided to close. I’ve enjoyed participating a few times, but really loved looking at the designs posted by others as well. The challenge was the brainchild of Susan Raihala, one of the queens of clean and simple designs, in my opinion.
I’m gradually starting to feel a bit better from this crazy flu (or whatever it is I have). I’m still not feeling up to spending a whole lot of time at my craft table yet as I’m still feeling pretty weak, but I did manage to sit down this morning and make a quick card. I decided to use the peace theme from the final challenge at One Layer Simplicity again as a way to say thanks to them for hosting the challenge the past three years.
I used some Thick Whisper White cardstock from Stampin’ Up!® for the card base. The stamped images are from the Holly Jolly Greetings set, also by Stampin’ Up. I began by stamping the snowflake using Pink Pirouette ink. Next, I inked up the sentiment images first in VersaMark then in Tempting Turquoise. I added some clear embossing powder then heat set it.
I’m entering this card in the following challenges:
- Stamp, Ink, Paper – the current theme is embossing.
- Time Out Challenges – the current theme is Christmas.
- Jingle Belles – this challenge is actually on hiatus until January, but they have an open linky through Christmas Eve for people to share any holiday cards they make.
Until next time …
