Vintage Christmas

I apologize for being missing in action from my blog the past several days. Things were extremely busy for me at work last week which, sadly, didn’t leave time for crafting or card making. Then, just when I thought I would have a chance to craft, I woke up to a flooded living room Friday morning thanks to some heavy rains we had overnight. Add a sleep study last night on top of all that and it’s definitely been a crazy week. Christmas is (hopefully) going to see so tame and low key after the past week! LOL

Mel's Card Corner | Vintage Christmas Class

As I promised in my post earlier this week, today I’m sharing the projects from the other class I took last weekend at Stamp Fever, my local stamp store. This class was taught by Sheila and was full of vintage/Tim Holtz goodness.

Mel's Card Corner | Vintage Christmas Class

The first project was this beautiful tag. The tag base is from a Julie Nutting tag stack by Prima which was stenciled using Tim’s Poinsettia Layering Stencil and Distress Inks. For the focal panel, we used images from Tim’s 2016 Holiday Drawings stamp set from Stampers Anonymous which we then colored. Some people used sponge daubers and Distress Inks to color their image, but I opted to use my Copic markers.

For the second project, we used the Victorian Frame Bigz XL die designed by Brenda Walton for Sizzix. We used images from the Holiday Drawings stamp set again as well as one of the sentiments from the Mini Doodle Greetings stamp set. I forgot to ask, so I’m not sure what stamp set the greenery images were from. Once again, I colored my images using Copic markers then added lots of Distress Ink (Walnut Stain) around all the edges using either a mini ink blending tool or sponge dauber.

One Last Thing …

TimeOut Honours

I want to send out a thank you to the Design Team over at Time Out Challenges. They selected my Peace on Earth one layer card as an Honorable Mention winner of their recent Christmas challenge. Given there were 219 entries, I’m incredibly honored to have been selected as one of only four to receive a mention. Thanks so much, DT!!

Ok, One More Last Thing …

Be sure to stop back again tomorrow. I’ll be sharing some pretty major news that I’m incredibly excited about and can’t wait to spill the beans.

Until next time …
