I wanted to start today’s post with a little mea culpa. I discovered the Hello Bar email subscription link I’ve had across the top of my page the past few months hasn’t been working properly and many people who have signed up haven’t actually been receiving emails. I’ve disabled it for now until I can figure out what’s going on with it. In the interim, if you would like to receive an email notification whenever I post to my blog, please use the Subscribe form over in the right-hand menu. I apologize for the confusion!
Now, on to the card! I’m back today with another card created using products from the new Holiday Wrap-Up mini release from Catherine Pooler Designs. This release was launched yesterday and is full of adorable images what work so well together, but also work well with her previous releases.
For this card, I used the sweater knit image from Holiday Mittens to create my background using Catherine’s Grass Skirt ink. A bit of gold glitter paper not only adds a bit of bling, but it helped cover up a little alignment boo-boo I made while stamping the background. That’ll just be our little secret though, OK? 😉
For the focal image, I used one of the dies from the Merry Labels die set included in the recent Candy Cane Lane Stamp of Approval collection. I stamped a sentiment from the Holiday Mittens set using Midnight ink as well as the little coffee mug from the For Everything set in Rockin’ Red ink, both of which are included in the Foundations Box. I also added the little heart from For Everything on the mug using VersaMark ink then heat embossed it in white.
To completely my focal image, I stamped the mittens from Holiday Mittens on a piece of scrap watercolor paper. Using a water brush, I watercolored them using the Orange Twist ink then stamped on the little star from the same set then cut them out using the coordinating Holiday Mittens die set. I added a generous coat of clear Sparkle pen to the mittens and mug then adhered the mittens to the label to make it look like they’re holding the mug and that finished my card.
One last thing …
I wanted to take a moment to thank the Design Team at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. They selected my CASEing Myself card as an Honorable Mention winner for their last challenge. Thank you so much for recognizing my card, DT! As always, I’ve updated my Challenge Wins/Features page to reflect this latest honor. I also want to give a shout out to Sue, my fellow StampNation Sistah, for being selected winner of the challenge!
Until next time …
Nice Card – I especially like the sparkly mittens and cup – thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Barbara!
I love how you used the cable knit stamp.
Thanks, Debbie!
Thanks for sharing about the alignment boo-boo. The gold ribbon does look great! I always tell my new stampers there are no mistakes–just opportunities for embellishment:)
Happy holidays!
Thanks, Caroline!
Adorable mittens!!
Thanks, D.Ann!
