As promised in yesterday’s post, I’m back today with the second project from the class I took at Stamp Fever on Saturday taught by Linda. These projects were so much fun to make, so I hope you’re all enjoying seeing them, too.
For this project, we started with a chipboard tag as the base. We covered it with a piece of the Lynette plaid paper from Lawn Fawn. Using a mini ink blending tool, I added some Peacock Feathers Distress Ink then added a bit of Vintage Photo to create a bit of a patina look.
We used another watercolor panel from the birthday collection by Taylored Expressions for this project. Once again, I used Distress Markers and a water brush to watercolor my panel. For this one, I used Candied Apple, Peacock Feathers, and Mustard Seed. The inner portions were watercolored, but not the border. I just colored it in directly using the markers.
While the watercolor panel was drying, I prepped the other pieces. I did the same Peacock Feathers & Vintage Photo ink blending around the edges of a mat for my focal image as well as the balloon die cuts which are from the Party Balloons dies from Lawn Fawn. These pieces were all cut from Mermaid cardstock, also from Lawn Fawn. The second layer is cut from Chili Pepper cardstock. I only used Vintage Photo for the distressing on it.
Once the watercolor panel was dry, I adhered it to the Mermaid mat. I then adhered that to the Chili Pepper layer slightly offsetting the layers. I adhered all of that to the tag using foam tape. Once the layers were in place, I added the balloon die cuts using foam tape. I drew some strings on for the balloons on the watercolor panel using the fine tip end of the Black Soot Distress marker.
To embellish the tag, I added some buttons and pearls from the Dragon Fire embellishment bottle from 28 Lilac Lane collection by May Flaum. To finish the card, I added some clear Wink of Stella over all the balloons for a bit of sparkle then added some sheer red ribbon at the top of the tag.
Don’t forget our Birthday Bash is still going on over at StampNation. We’re up to day six of our big eight day celebration. I thought I would give a little sneak peek of the DT inspiration cards for today. Once again, one of them is mine. Can you guess which one?
Don’t forget we prizes worth hundreds of dollars up for grabs by simply participating in our Birthday Bash challenges. You have until Jan. 31 to create and post your challenge designs to be eligible for the drawing. We’d love to have you join us!
