Happy 2017, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season spent with friends and family. Things have finally settled down following the holidays and a brief stint in the hospital with a bout of gastroenteritis (stomach flu), so it’s time to get back to regular posting here again for me.
I thought I would jump back into posting by sharing a card I made for a swap over at StampNation. We did a New Year card swap and this is the card I created for Lynn, a fellow StampNation member from Canada.
I started with a piece of watercolor paper and created a pink ombre wash for the background. I did this by adding multiple layers of the same pink color at the top half of the wash until I had the look I wanted. After letting it dry, I stamped the images using Versamark ink then heat set them using gold embossing powder. The girl image is from the November 2016 Midnight Kisses kit of the month by Unity Stamp Co, and the new year sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set by Stampin’ Up.
I trimmed the watercolor panel down to 4″ and added a strip of gold glitter paper along the left edge. Since the watercolor paper warped a bit, I decided to adhere it to a piece of fun foam to help flatten it out a bit. I then adhered it to a white A2 top-folding card base.
In case you haven’t heard, Catherine Pooler will be launching some new colors for her ink line next week as well as reinkers for all of them. Woo Hoo!! She’s been announcing the new colors one by one each day on her Facebook page if you want a sneak peek.
Until next time …
