I’m not one of the stops in the day two blog hop for the new Stamp of Approval The Perfect Reason collection, but I still wanted to share a card I made using products from the collection. You definitely want to start at Catherine’s blog and check out all the stops for day two of the big three day blog hop and leave comments for all of them. There’s another collection up for grabs today as part of the hop, so don’t miss out!
For my card today, I wanted to feature two of the products in this collection that can each really stand on their own. The first is the Mod Squared Stencil and the other is the large Congrats sentiment from the You Did It stamp set. As I mentioned in my post yesterday, I absolutely LOVE this sentiment. I love the large size and the font is amazing!
To create the glittery background for this card, I started by using some Sugar Glitter Paste by BoBunny which is basically a clear glitter paste. I added two drops of the Lime Rickey ink refill from Catherine Pooler Designs to tint the paste this lovely soft citrus green. I applied the paste to my card stock through the stencil using a palette knife. Once I had a nice smooth even layer, I removed the stencil (be sure to clean it right away!) and set the panel aside to dry.
While I waited for the glitter paste to dry, I stamped the sentiment on a piece of vellum using Midnight ink. I quickly applied some clear embossing powder and heat embossed it. Given how sparkly the background was going to be, I wanted the sentiment to have a bit of shine so it wouldn’t get lost.
When the stenciled background was dry, I wrapped the vellum sentiment strip around the panel and adhered it on the back with some strong adhesive. I matted the panel with some black card stock then adhered it to an A2 top-folding card base and that finished my card.
Be sure to stop back again tomorrow. I’ll be sharing a masculine card made with this collection. Definitely come back for the big launch day on Wednesday as well. I have a card ready for that day which will also feature the Mod Squared Stencil I used today plus the collection namesake Perfect Reason stamps and dies.
Until next time …
