Happy Easter

I’m back today with another card I created using images I colored as part of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge hosted by Kathy of The Daily Marker. I used some of the images in the stamp set included in the March card kit from Simon Says Stamp. This kit is sold out, but most of the individual components are still available.

I started by stamping my images on a piece of Bristol Smooth card stock using Intense Black Ink from Simon Says Stamp. I then applied a bit of color using the Zig Clear Color Real Brush markers and then pulled it out using a mostly dry water brush. To give the eggs a bit of shimmer, I went over the teal parts using a clear Sparkle pen from Spectrum Noir.

To create a background for my stamped images, I cut a rectangle using one of the Wonky Stitches 4 Layers dies from Gina Marie Designs. Using the Oval of Flowers stencil included in the kit, I applied a thin layer of aquamarine Nuvo Embellishment Mousse from Tonic Studios using a palette knife then set it aside to dry.

While I waited for the mousse to dry, I fussy cut my colored images then went around all the edges with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker. I then created an A2 top-folding card base from some Thick Whisper White card stock from Stampin’ Up!® To that, I added a layer using a piece of patterned paper from the Perfectly Plaid Christmas Petite Paper Pack by Lawn Fawn using some tape runner. I love when I’m able to use “Christmas” papers at other times of the year!

When the embellishment mousse was dry, I adhered the die cut rectangle to the card using some foam tape. I adhered the polka dot egg directly to the rectangle using some tape runner, then popped up the striped egg and bunny by adhering them with a bit more of the foam tape and that completed my card.

I’m entering this card in the following challenges:

Until next time …
