Teapot of Flowers

I’m back again today with another card I created using an image I colored as part of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Today’s card is featuring a beautiful teapot full of flowers image from the Teapot of Flowers stamp set Impression Obsession and a sentiment from the Big on Birthdays stamp set from Stampin’ Up

I started by stamping the teapot image on a piece of Bristol Smooth card stock using VersaMark ink then heat embossed it using white embossing powder. I watercolored the image using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and a water brush. For a bit of shimmer, I added a layer of clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen over the entire teapot. After the watercoloring was dry, I trimmed the panel down and added one of the birthday sentiments from the Big on Birthdays stamp set from Stampin’ Up using Pacific Point ink.

I created an A2 top-folding card base using the Premium White Card Stock from Catherine Pooler Designs. I also cut a layer of Pacific Point card stock about 1/8″ larger than my watercolor panel. I adhered the watercolor panel to the Pacific Point layer using some Tear & Tape adhesive since the watercolor panel warped slightly from the water. I then adhered the matted layer to the card base using tape runner and that finished the card.

I’m entering this card in the following challenges:

Until next time …

Two of my favourite colours – blue and yellow. I particularly like when I see them on floral cards! I LOVE the bright colours and how you’ve matched the background as well. Reminds me of Van Gogh’s sunflowers 🙂 Thank you so much for playing along this month at the Flower Challenge. Ruth DT xx
