For today’s card, I’m using the Thankful Life stamp set from Stampin’ Up!® This is one of the hostess sets available in the current Occasions/Spring catalog. This set is a three step stamp which makes creating a multicolor image so much easier than coloring a stamp with markers!
I started by cutting a piece of Whisper White card stock to 3-7/8 x 5-1/8″. I stamped the vase using Pool Party ink then added the highlight using the Whisper White Craft ink. I used the heat tool to quickly go over the Whisper White Craft ink to dry it. The Craft ink is a pigment ink, so it takes longer to dry than our dye inks, so the heat tool is great for speeding up that process.
For a bit of shimmer, I added two coats of clear Wink of Stella to the vase. Even though I dried it with the heat tool, I made sure to avoid the Whisper White Craft highlight when adding the Wink of Stella because I didn’t want to risk having the ink smear.
Next, I stamped the three layers of the floral image. I used my MISTI stamping tool for this step. If you don’t have a MISTI, using a Stamp-a-Ma-Jig would also work. I stamped the first layer with Calypso Coral, the second layer with Pear Pizzazz, and the final layer with So Saffron. Since all the colors I used are part of the Subtles color family, they all work together beautifully! To complete my focal panel, I stamped the sentiment from the same set using VersaMark ink then heat embossed it in gold.
To assemble the card, I matted my stamped layer on a piece of Pool Party card stock cut to 4 x 5.25″. I then adhered the matted layer to an A2 top-folding card base made from So Saffron card stock and that finished the card.
