One of my favorite products from the Spring/Occasions catalog from Stampin’ Up!® is the Big on Birthdays stamp set. I love the font on the sentiments and the doodled floral images. This set just makes me smile when I use it.
For the focal image on my card, I die cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the second largest die from the Lots of Labels Framelits. While I had the Big Shot out, I also cut a piece of one of the floral papers from the Succulent Gardens DSP pack using the largest die from Lots of Labels to use as a mat for my focal image.
I stamped the happy birthday sentiment from the Big On Birthdays stamp set using Sweet Sugarplum ink. I also stamped the floral spray from the set beneath the sentiment using Basic Gray ink. I chose the gray over the black just to give it a softer look. I colored the image using my Stampin’ Write markers. I used Sweet Sugarplum for the flowers and Old Olive for the leaves. Finally, I went over all the flowers using the clear Wink of Stella pen.
For the background of my card, I cut a piece of the gingham paper from the Succulent Gardens DSP pack to 3-7/8 x 5-1/8″. I matted it with a piece of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock cut to 4 x 5.25″. I wrapped the matted panel with some of the Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon then adhered it to an A2 Whisper White card base then adhered the matted Lots of Labels layer over the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally, I added a few Sweet Sugarplum Enamel Shapes in opposite corners and that completed my card.
I’m entering this card in the following challenges:
- Sunday Stamps – the current theme is a color challenge.
- Stamp, Ink, Paper – the current theme is coming up flowers.
Until next time …
