Old Meets New

For today’s card, I thought I would combine a few retiring Stampin’ Up!® products with some of the new products coming in the 2017-2018 catalog launching on June 1. As a reminder, items on the retired list are on a “while supplies last” status. If you want something, I would suggest buying sooner rather than later since several things have sold out already. Now, on to today’s card.

Mel's Card Corner | Old Meets New

I started by creating my focal image by cutting a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 2-7/8 x 3-7/8″. For the stamping, I used the retiring hostess set, Thankful Life, which is a three-step stamp set. I used Daffodil Delight along with two of the new In Colors coming soon, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst. To help get everything lined up correctly, I used my Mini MISTI stamp positioner which makes multiple step stamping a snap!

For the vase, I used Smoky Slate ink then added a layer of clear Wink of Stella over it. I then added a little highlight along the left side using a white gel pen. To complete the focal image, I stamped the hello sentiment from the stamp set included in the Watercolor Wishes card kit over the vase using Basic Gray ink. Once I had all the stamping completed, I matted the stamped panel to a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock cut to 3×4″ using Snail adhesive.

I created an A2 top-folding card base by cutting a piece of the new Berry Burst cardstock to 4.25×11″ then scoring at 5.5″. For a bit of added interest, I cut a strip of Berry Burst designer series paper (DSP) from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack to 1.5×5.5″. I adhered the DSP along the left edge of the card base using Snail adhesive. I then added the matted focal image to the center of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. To complete the card, I added a signature panel to the inside of my card using a 4×5.25″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.

I’m entering the card in the following challenge:

Since this card contains products from the new catalog which won’t be available to customers until June 1, I will be unable to link to them in the supply list below. I will link to any product currently available.

Until next time …
