Paper & Ink Sketches #19

Mel's Card Corner | Paper & Ink Sketches #19

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and got to spend some time crafting. I spent part of my crafting time this weekend creating a card using the latest sketch in the Paper & Ink Sketches series to create this pretty Mother’s Day card.

Mel's Card Corner | Paper & Ink Sketches #19

For my card, I decided to mix some new products from Stampin’ Up!® along with some retiring products I’m really sad to see going! As for the new products, I’m using the Fresh Fig card stock and ink. For the retiring products, I’m using the Oh So Succulent stamp set, Succulent Garden DSP, and Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon. I also used some Whisper White card stock, Sweet Sugarplum ink, and the Banner Triple Punch, all of which are carrying over to the new catalog.

I stamped the base image of the succulent on a 1-7/8 x 3-1/2″ piece of Whisper White card stock using Sweet Sugarplum ink. I then stamped the outline on top of it, as well as the sentiment, using Fresh Fig.

I used the Banner Triple Punch to create a fishtail end on my stamped piece. I wanted to mat the stamped panel on some Fresh Fig card stock, so I also used the punch to create a fishtail end on a piece of Fresh Fig card stock which was cut to 2 x 3-5/8″. Using Snail adhesive, I adhered the stamped banner to the Fresh Fig mat leaving a 1/16″ border around all the edges.

I created an A2 top-folding card base using Fresh Fig card stock. I cut a piece of the Sweet Sugarplum gingham DSP from the Succulent Gardens paper stack to 4 x 5.25″. I wrapped it with a piece of Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon then adhered it to the card base using Snail adhesive. I tied a bow from the ribbon separately then adhered it to the card using a glue dot. I added a few Dimensionals to the back of the matted banner then adhered it to the card straddling the ribbon. To finish things off, I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella over the stamped succulent.

If you would like a copy of this sketch, you can download a copy using these links. The first link doesn’t include any measurements. If you would like measurements, be sure to use the second link.

I won’t be able to link to any of the new products in my supply list below since they aren’t available for customers yet, but I will have links to all the products that are retiring and/or carrying over. If you like the Oh So Succulent bundle but haven’t purchased it yet, now is a great time to grab these items. The stamp set on sale for $15.75 (a 25% savings) and the coordinating framelits dies are on sale for only $16.50 (a 50% savings!). Even though I didn’t use the framelits on this card, I’ll link them below as well.

With these sale prices, it’s cheaper to purchase each item in the Oh So Succulent bundle separately since the bundle (also retiring) isn’t actually on sale. It gives you a combined savings of 33% off vs. the normal 10% off discount on bundles. Be sure to visit my online store to place your order before they sell out! Remember, retiring products are only available while supplies last. Once they’re gone, they’re gone for good!

I hope you enjoyed my card today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time …
