The past week has been a whirlwind of crafty activity for me! Between going to OnStage last week, the Stampin’ Up!® retirement list coming out, my pre-order from the new catalog arriving, participating in the International Highlights, doing design team work for some exciting things coming next week from Catherine Pooler Designs, and still working my regular day job to boot on top of all that … yeah, I’ve been busy. All of that still didn’t keep me from wanting to create a card for my blog today. I just knew it meant I would need to keep it quick and simple.
I love the combination of Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla from Stampin’ Up. It just looks so classically elegant to me, so that’s the color combination I chose for this card. I cut a piece of the Crumb Cake to 4.25 x 5.5″ then used the Corbel Border die from Simon Says Stamp to create a border along the left side about 1/4″ from the edge.
To help balance all the die cutting on the left side of the card, I decided to do a bit of die cutting on the right side as well. I used a plain curved die from the Stitched Slopes and Hills dies, also from Simon Says Stamp to created a curved shape on the right side of the Crumb cake. I then adhered my Crumb Cake layer to a Very Vanilla top-folding card base using tape runner.
I used a sentiment from the Big Scripty Greetings stamp sent from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped it centered near the bottom of the card using Early Espresso ink from Stampin’ Up. With all the detail of border die I used, I decided the card really didn’t need any additional embellishments, so that completed the quick clean and simple card.
Until next time …
