Happy Thursday, everyone! Welcome to the inaugural Calling All Sistahs card challenge! As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, a new challenge will be kicking off over on the Calling All Sistahs blog on the 18th of each month. The mood board and color palette above is the inspiration for this month’s challenge. Aren’t those colors just yummy!
Here’s the card I created for this challenge.
For today’s card, I started by doing some repeat stamping on the front of the card base. I used one of the flower images from the Girlfriend stamp set by CAS-ual Friday’s Stamps (CFS) stamping it using Basic Gray ink from Stampin’ Up which is an archival ink. This allowed me to do a bit of watercoloring to fill in the flowers. For that, I used Pixie, Something Borrowed, and Aquatini inks from Catherine Pooler Designs. I used the same inks to stamp in some other smaller images from the Girlfriend stamp set to fill in some of the white spaces.
Next, I die cut a tag using the largest die from the Scallop Tags Fri-Dies set. I stamped the sentiments, also from the Girlfriend stamp set, using Pixie and Something Borrowed. I sponged around the edges of the tag and card base using the blue ink. To complete the card, I added a bit of white seaming to the tag then adhered it to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I hope you’ll join me and the rest of the Encouragement Squad over at the Calling All Sistahs blog and play along with this challenge. To join in, all you have to do is create an encouragement-themed card using the inspiration image then link up on the current challenge post over at the Calling All Sistahs blog.
You don’t have to use CAS-ual Fridays Stamps (CFS) products to play along with the challenge. However, if you do and are selected winner of the challenge, Michele (the owner of CFS) will DOUBLE the prize. If you want to pick up some CFS stamps and/or dies, you can use my special Girl Friday Encouragement Squad code in the above image to save 15% on your order.
Until next time …
