I’m sure many of you have become accustomed to seeing me participate in the Calling All Sistahs blog hope on the 17th of each month reminding women to perform their monthly breast self-exam and schedule their mammogram if it’s time for one. Beginning this month, things will be a little different going forward.
Michele, the owner of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps (CFS) who came up with the Calling All Sistahs idea, has decided to create a new Calling All Sistahs blog. As you may have seen in my post from a few days ago, I was incredibly honored to be asked my Michele to be part of her new Encouragement Squad design team for the new blog.
Today, and on the 17th of each month hereafter, each member of the Encouragement Squad will post a Calling All Sistahs project, along with all the details, on our blogs with a reminder for women to perform their monthly self-exam. Michele will also be posting a photo of each of our projects that day over on the Calling All Sistahs blog, so you’ll definitely want to head over there when you’ve finished checking out my card so you can see all of the amazing projects created by my fellow Encouragement Squad design team members.
Tomorrow, and on the 18th of each month going forward, a new monthly challenge will kick off over on the Calling All Sistahs blog. Once again, each Encouragement Squad design team member will create a card for the challenge, but there will also be a link up so all of you can participate as well! Each monthly challenge will include a mood board and accompanying color palette. Participants can use these as inspiration to create an encouragement-themed project, not necessarily just one for breast cancer awareness. Please be sure to stop back tomorrow to see my card for our first challenge and then head over to the Calling All Sistahs blog to play along with us!
Now, let’s get on to my card for today.
For this card, I used the tree images from the Calm and Gentle stamp set by CFS. I stamped the trunks using Soft Suede ink and the leaves using Lemon Lime Twist, Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green, and Emerald Envy, all from Stampin’ Up.
I stamped one of the sentiments from the Hope Ribbon stamp set by CFS on a piece of Lemon Lime Twist card stock from Stampin’ Up using VersaMark ink. I heat embossed it using gold embossing powder then punched it out using the Classic Label Punch from Stampin’ Up.
I matted the focal panel on a piece of Lemon Lime Twist card stock. Beforeing adhering it to my top-folding card base, I repeat stamped the hope sentiment from the Hope Ribbon stamp set on the card base. I used Powder Pink ink from Stampin’ Up, but stamped off once before stamping on the card base.
I adhered the focal panel to the card base using tape runner. To complete the card, I adhered the sentiment over the tree trunks using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to head over to the Calling All Sistahs blog to check out the rest of the cards from the Encouragement Squad design team. Don’t forget, you can always use my special Girl Friday Encouragement Squad discount code to receive 15% off your order when purchasing stamps and dies from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. As an added bonus, Michele will donate 50% of the profits on any products purchased from the special Calling All Sistahs breast cancer awareness line toward breast cancer research and awareness programs.
Until next time …
