Paper & Ink Sketches #20 {Video}

Mel's Card Corner | Paper & Ink Sketches #20

It’s time for another installment of the Paper & Ink Sketches series. I can’t believe we’re up to sketch 20 already! I’ve been really remiss in playing along with all of the sketches, but I hope to circle back around and revisit the ones I’ve missed and use them on some upcoming card designs.

I enjoyed this sketch so much, I actually ended up making three cards. If you want to see how I created them, I’ve included a video below.

All the products I used are from Stampin’ Up!®. You can find links to everything in my online store in the supply list below my signature.

Mel's Card Corner | Paper & Ink Sketches #20

For the first card, I used a Pear Pizzazz card base, Watermelon Wonder for my cardstock mats, and patterned paper from the Tasty Treats Designer Series Paper pack. The sentiment is from the Cool Treats stamp set which I stamped using Watermelon Wonder ink. I embellished it with some rhinestones which, sadly, have already sold out. There will be an updated configuration of rhinestones coming in the new catalog on June 1.

For the second card, I used a Peekaboo Peach card base, Pear Pizzazz for the cardstock layers, and the same Tasty Treats DSP. Once again, I used the same sentiment from the Cool Treats stamp set using the Pear Pizzazz ink. I embellished the sentiment using the Pear Pizazz Enamel Shapes.

For the final card, I had a small strip of DSP left over from cutting the layers for the other cards. I decided to flip things up a bit on the sketch and put my accent strip on the horizontal instead the on the vertical as shown in the sketch. I really love how this card turned out! I used Watermelon Wonder for the card base, Peekaboo Peach for the cardstock layers, and the same DSP again. I used the same sentiment stamped in Peekaboo Peach and embellished it with Peekaboo Peach Enamel Shapes.

Here are the links for sketch 20 if you would like to download a PDF copy. The first is just a general sketch with no measurements, but the second includes the measurements for all the layers. Simply select the one you prefer.

If you like this DSP, now is a great time to order some. It’s on the retiring list, but is still available. Even better? It’s on sale 40% off! You can get this awesome Specialty DSP pack for only $7.80! Visit my online store to order your pack today before it’s gone!

Until next time …
