SOA Naturally Inspired – Day 2

Mel's Card Corner | Naturally Inspired Day 2

Even though I’m not part of the “official” Design Team blog hop today, I have another card to share. This card was created using products from the new Stamp of Approval Naturally Inspired collection from Catherine Pooler which will be available for Wait List ordering beginning at 9am ET on Wednesday, June 7. If you aren’t on the Wait List already, there’s still time to sign up!

Mel's Card Corner | Naturally Inspired Day 2

I started by creating my own stencil using a piece of acetate and the Lattice Frame Die. I adhered it to a white cardstock panel using Post-It tape then used a mini ink blending tool and Catherine’s Bellini ink to add some color to the panel. Since the Lattice Frame Die is smaller than a card layer, I simply moved it around the panel using previously inked sections as a guide for lining up the lattice detail. This allowed me to easily fill the entire panel with the inked lattice. It also resulted in some variation in the Bellini color which gives some nice added interest to the panel.

Once the background was finished, I trimmed it down to 4 x 5.25″. I stamped a sentiment in the center of the panel using images from the Simply the Best sentiment builder stamp set in Midnight ink. I felt like the card still needed a little something, so I die cut the outer border from the Lattice Frame Die from white card stock and added it as a frame around the sentiment as a perfect finishing touch.

Please be sure to head over to Catherine’s blog to see the lineup for day two of our big three day Design Team blog hop for this collection. Remember to leave a comment on each blog in the hop on all three days for a chance to win your very own Naturally Inspired collection!

I’ll be back again tomorrow with another project created using products from the new collection. I hope you’ll join me!

Until next time …

  1. Connie Brooks says: took me awhile to figure out how you got a card base front completely of lattice. THEN….I read your how-to. Duh me! You used it as a stencil. How smart of you. I love it
