It’s the 17th which means it’s time for your friendly reminder to perform your monthly breast self-exam. Each month, all of us on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Encouragement Squad design team post a Calling All Sistahs project on our blogs as a reminder for women to perform their monthly self-exam. Michele, the owner of CFS, will also post a photo of each of our projects over on the Calling All Sistahs blog, so you’ll definitely want to head over there when you’ve finished checking out my card so you can see all of the amazing projects created by my fellow Encouragement Squad members.
Now, let’s get to my card for this month.
I started my card by creating the background on my focal layer. I used the watercolor swoosh stamp from the Breathe stamp set. I repeatedly stamped it down the entire length of the panel using Powder Pink ink from Stampin’ Up!® To ensure I got them spaced evenly, I used the MISTI stamp positioner and moved my cardstock in 1/2″ increments between stamping.
Once I had the stamping completed, I used my embossing buddy to go over everything to be sure the ink was dry. I then stamped one of the sentiments from the Calling All Sistahs stamp set using VersaMark ink then heat embossed it using gold embossing powder.
To assemble the card, I matted my focal panel on a piece of coordinating Powder Pink card stock using Snail adhesive. I wrapped the matted panel three times using some white baker’s twine then finished it off with a bow. I adhered the twine-wrapped panel to a top-folding card base using Dimensionals and that completed the card.
