Counting Blessings SOA Blog Hop – Day 1

Mel's Card Corner | Counting Blessings SOA Blog Hop

Welcome to the kickoff for our big three day blog hop for the new Stamp of Approval Counting Blessings Collection. You should have arrived here from Jennifer’s blog, but if you didn’t, don’t worry. I’ll have a full list of all the blog hop participants at the end of my post.

The Counting Blessings collection will be available for purchase on Wednesday, August 16. It will go on sale for people who are signed up for the wait list at 9am ET and to the general public at 6pm ET, if there is remaining inventory. So, if you want that 9 hour head start to order this amazing collection before it goes on sale to the general public, you might want to sign up for the wait list.

If you want to get an even bigger head start, join StampNation! There will be a special live pre-release PJ party on Tuesday night (August 15) at 10pm ET for StampNation members. Ordering for the new collection will open up for all StampNation members during the live party!

For those who may be unfamiliar with Stamp of Approval, it’s a specially curated collection of products designed to coordinate together and retails for $97 plus tax and shipping. It’s not a kit, so it doesn’t include card stock, envelopes, etc. It includes stamps, dies, accessories, etc. to making creating a snap! Once a collection sells out, it will not be available again as a full collection. However, the individual products contained within the collection will be made available for individual purchase at full retail price several months after the collection is released.

The Counting Blessings Collection (retail value of over $130) includes:

  • 4 stamp sets
  • 3 sets of dies
  • 2 stencils
  • a FREE clear acrylic block
  • a FREE surprise gift we aren’t revealing!
  • a FREE Project Guide PDF download filled with dozens of amazing card ideas

There will also be some add-on options available for this collection as well. They will be posted in the store when the collection goes on sale so you can add them to you order, if you want. There will be another set of dies which coordinates with one of the stamp sets in the collection, as well as additional sizes of the clear acrylic blocks.

I have a couple of cards I thought I would share for the hop. I created both cards using products from the Counting Blessings collection along with a variety of Catherine’s inks.

Mel's Card Corner | Counting Blessings SOA Blog Hop

The first card features the gorgeous maple leaf stamp from the Leaf Motifs stamp set and the rock & roll inking technique. I’ve paired it with sentiments from the Autumn Blessings stamp set. There isn’t a die for the blessings sentiment, so I fussy cut it for this card.

I’m generally more of a CAS (clean and simple) designer, but I went for lots of ink layering for this technique-driven card. I did some watercolor and splattering along with some stenciling using the Marching Leaves stencil from the collection. The sentiment was made using the Thankful die, also included in the collection. I also incorporated stamped images from the Leaf Motifs and Autumn Blessings stamp sets on this card.

As you can see, the collection is awesome for creating Autumn and Thanksgiving themed cards. However, the collection is so versatile, you can easily create cards to use all year round. Be sure to hop along all three days to not only see the amazing cards created by Catherine and the rest of the design team, but for a chance to win your very own collection, too!

That’s right! One lucky winner will be randomly chosen from each day’s comments. Entries close on THURSDAY, August 17 at 9AM ET and the winners will be announced later that day on Catherine’s blog. The winners will receive the Counting Blessings collection for FREE! If the winner has already purchased this collection, they will be issued a $100 Gift Certificate to Catherine’s store to use for a future purchase.

Even though today is my only “official” hop day, I may share another card or two I’ve made using products from this collection over the next couple of days. I’ll also be back at 6pm ET on Wednesday with one final post to coincide with the general release of the collection. I hope you’ll join each day in addition to taking part in the official hop.

As promised earlier, here’s a full list of all the participants for today’s hop.

At any point during the three days of this hop, if you lose your way, you can always head over to Catherine’s blog to start over. Her blog will be the starting point each day.

Until next time …

I love this box! I feel very fortunate that I am able to budget in purchasing the SOA every quarter. I typically do not comment on the blog hop, because I hope the winner is someone who may not have that financial luxury; however, this morning was a bit crazy and when I went to purchase, it was SOLD OUT! The blog hop is my last chance at owning one of these boxes…fingers crossed…I’ve owned every one from the beginning.
