Fall is Here

Ok, so Fall still isn’t technically here in southern California given it’s supposed to be 105 tomorrow (yikes!), but I’m taking another brief break from holiday cards to bring you another fall-themed card. Unfortunately, the stamp and die set I used for this card is no longer available. I used the exclusive Pumpkin Spice It Up set created by The Greeting Farm for the STAMPtember event last month at Simon Says Stamp. I just adore this little girl wearing eyeglasses and holding a coffee cup. She could be me! LOL

This set sold out pretty quickly and once they’re gone, they’re gone for good. If you don’t have this particular set, there are other similar stamps from The Greeting Farm (or other companies) which could be used instead.

For my card, I started by stamping my images since I wanted to do some Copic coloring. I stamped the little girl and the pumpkin from the stamp set on some 80# Neenah Solar White card stock using Jet Black ink from Lawn Fawn. Here are the Copic markers I used to color my images:

  • Skin: E51, E11, BV000, R20 (add C0 over the glasses on top of skin coloring)
  • Hair: YR12, YR18, E09
  • Scarf: BG11, BG13, BG18 (white gel pen for polka dots)
  • Shirt: E84, E87, E89
  • Skirt: B93, B95, B99
  • Shoes: B99
  • Coffee Cup: C3, C1, C0, E31, E33, E35
  • Pumpkin: YR02, YR16, E07, YG95, YG97

After I had the pumpkin colored, I added the Fall is Here sentiment from the same stamp set over it. I stamped it using the same Jet Black ink from Lawn Fawn. Once that was done, I die cut the images. I used the coordinating dies to cut out the little girl image and used a small stitched circle die to cut out the sentiment. I lined the circle die up so the sentiment and pumpkin would be in the lower part of the circle so I could layer my little girl on top of the sentiment circle.

Next, I created the background elements for my card. I used some patterned papers from the Perfectly Plaid Fall Petite Paper Pack from Lawn Fawn (sadly, discontinued) and adhered them to a top-folding card base made from white card stock from Catherine Pooler Designs. To hide the seam where the papers met, I heat embossed a 1/4″ strip of card stock using WOW! Copper embossing powder and adhered it over the seam.

I adhered the little girl to the edge of the stitched circle using some liquid glue. Next, I added some small foam squared behind the stitched circle as well as the exposed areas of the little girl then adhered them to my card. For some finishing touches, I added some Glossy Accents over the eyeglasses, some clear Sparkle Pen over the pumpkin, and a cute little orange heart enamel dot I had in my stash and that completed this card.

I’m entering this card in the following challenges:

Until next time …
