Festive Holiday Wishes

After taking a break from holiday cards for a few days, I’m back with another one. I just couldn’t resist making a card using the new WOW! Red Glitz embossing powder I ordered from Catherine Pooler’s online store. It was perfect for the poinsettia stamp from her recent Winterhaven Stamp of Approval collection.

For my card, I started by stamping the poinsettia image from ‘Tis the Season on white card stock using VersaMark ink. I also took a scrap strip of white card stock and did a direct-to-paper inking technique on it using VersaMark. I applied the Red Glitz embossing powder to both the stamped image and the strip. I also took another small scrap of white card stock and stamped the flower center image from ‘Tis the Season then heat set it using gold embossing powder. I then cut out the poinsettia and flower center using the coordinating ‘Tis the Season dies.

I decided to pull in the Marching Leaves stencil from the Counting Blessings Stamp of Approval collection which was released a couple of months ago. I taped it down over a piece of white card stock then used a mini ink blending tool to add some Lime Rickey ink through the stencil.

I trimmed the stenciled panel at an angle and adhered it flush to the top of a top-folding card base made from white card stock. I trimmed the strip of Red Glitz paper down to 1/4″ and adhered it right next to the stenciled panel and trimmed the excess with my scissors.

For the sentiment, I used one of the images in the Jingle Greetings stamp set from Mama Elephant. I stamped it in the lower right of the card base using Rockin’ Red ink from Catherine Pooler. I adhered the embossed flower center to the poinsettia using liquid glue then adhered the poinsettia to the card using foam squares and that completed the fun holiday card.

Until next time …
