Mel's Card Corner | Snarktoberfest 2017

As you may remember, I took part of a really fun blog hop earlier this month to kick of Snarktoberfest which is a month long challenge to create some fun sassy/snarky cards. Since we’re a little over half way through the month, I thought I would share another snarky card I made a few days ago using some fun stamps from So Suzy Stamps.

I started by using a 3″ circle die to create a mask using some masking paper. I applied the mast to a piece of white card stock then did some ink blending. Using a mini ink blending tool and working from lightest to darkest, I applied Mint to Be, Aquatini, and All That Jazz inks from Catherine Pooler Designs. I applied the ink very lightly in several layers until I reached the desired level of intensity.

I removed the mask then transferred the panel into my Mini Misti. I stamped the Martini Girl image over the ink blended circle using Midnight ink from Catherine Pooler. Since I was stamping a silhouette image over some intense color, using the Misti allowed me to stamp the image three times to ensure I had a nice crisp image. I then stamped the Get Fabulous sentiment, also using Midnight ink.

After I had all the stamping completed, I matted the panel with a piece of Midnight card stock from Catherine Pooler. I attached the matted panel to a card base created using Catherine’s Smoke card stock. Since I used a dark card stock for the card base, I added a panel on the inside of the card, too. Just as with the front, I matted the white panel on the inside of the card with Midnight card stock as well so everything would match and that completed the card.

There’s still plenty of time to participate in Snarktoberfest. Simply create a snarky/sassy card and share it on social media using the #snarktoberfest and #snarktoberfest2017 hashtags.

Until next time …
