Today is the kick-off for our big three-day blog hop leading up to the launch of the new Winterhaven Stamp of Approval collection on Tuesday, October 10. This is the highly anticipated holiday collection for 2017, so I have no doubt it will sell out quickly because 1) it’s the annual holiday collection, and 2) because it’s AMAZEBALLS! I absolutely love every single item in this collection and hope you will, too! If you aren’t already on the wait list, definitely be sure to sign up today!
While I’m not “officially” participating in the blog hop until Monday, Oct. 9, I still wanted to share cards on days one and two of the hop as a way to encourage you to head over to Catherine’s blog and hop along with us for these days as well. I’ll have a link for all the stops for today’s hop at the end of this post.
For my card today, I created this cute 3″ square notecard that could be used for a variety of occasions. It would be great as a gift enclosure card to use for occasions like adding to a New Year’s bottle of champagne, a wedding or anniversary gift, etc. It’s was super quick to create and takes very few supplies. Other than some basic card making supplies, all you’ll need is the Good Stuff stamp set from the collection, VersaMark ink, and some gold embossing powder.
I started by cutting two pieces of white card stock. I cut the first to 3 x 6″ and the second at 2.75″ square. I scored the 3 x 6″ piece at 3″ then folded it in half and burnished it with my bone folder. I set it aside to use as my card base.
On the 2.75″ square, I used a scoring board and scored around all four sides at 1/8″. I stamped the cheers sentiment from the Good Stuff stamp set centered near the bottom of the panel using VersaMark ink then heat embossed it using gold embossing powder.
On a small scrap piece of white card stock, I used the coordinating Good Stuff Dies to die cut the double champagne glasses. I stamped the champagne glass image from the stamp set on the die cut using VersaMark ink then also heat embossed them using the gold embossing powder.
To assemble the card, I adhered the scored panel to the card base using some foam squares. I also used foam squares to adhere the champagne glass die cut. I cut off tiny little strips of the foam squares to fit in some of the smaller areas of the glass stems. It worked great and that completed this card.
As I mentioned above, while I’m not participating in today’s hop, you definitely want to be sure and visit those who are. Here’s the list of today’s participants:
As always, be sure to leave comments on all the stops each day of our three-day hop for a chance to win this fabulous collection for yourself! If your name is drawn and you’ve already purchased the collection, you will receive a $100 gift certification to Catherine’s online store to use for a future purchase. Entries close on Wednesday, October 11 at 9am EST. Winners will be announced on Catherine’s blog later that day.
Until next time …
