I just wanted to take a moment to wish all of my U.S. readers a very happy Thanksgiving holiday today! For those traveling to be with friends and/or family, safe travels!!
I’ll be staying home today, but just wanted to post to say how very thankful for each of you who take the time to visit my blog and leave comments. So many of you follow me not only here, but also follow my YouTube channel, Instagram, and Facebook page. I truly appreciate each and every one of you and want you to know it!
For today’s card, I used the Harvest Mouse stamp set illustrated by Birdie Brown for My Favorite Things. I absolutely love Birdie’s illustrations and this sweet little mouse seemed perfect for a Thanksgiving card.
I stamped the mouse using Jet Black ink from Lawn Fawn on a piece of white card stock then colored him with Copic markers. After I finished the coloring, I fussy cut him then went around the edges with a black marker to cover the white cut edges.
On a piece of Bristol card stock, I masked off a 1.5″ strip then used Distress Oxide inks for a bit of ink blending. From left to right, I used Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, and Abandoned Coral. I used the Jet Black ink again to stamp the leaves and one of the sentiments from the same stamp set on the Bristol panel. To dress it up just a bit, I added some 1/8″ gold washi tape from the Year of Cheer washi tape set from Stampin’ Up!®.
To assemble the card, I adhered the Bristol panel to a top-folding card base made of white card stock from Catherine Pooler Designs. I adhered the sweet little mouse to the card using some thin foam squares which gave it just a tiny bit of dimension and that completed this clean and simple card.
I’m entering this card in the following challenges:
- Stamp, Ink, Paper – the current theme is grateful, thankful, blessed.
- The Paper Players – the current theme is CAS: warm and cozy.
- Color Throwdown – the current color challenge is yellow, orange, red, and brown.
Until next time …
