Mel's Card Corner | Happy Thanksgiving

For today’s card, I used the Harvest Mouse stamp set illustrated by Birdie Brown for My Favorite Things. I absolutely love Birdie’s illustrations and this sweet little mouse seemed perfect for a Thanksgiving card.

I stamped the mouse using Jet Black ink from Lawn Fawn on a piece of white card stock then colored him with Copic markers. After I finished the coloring, I fussy cut him then went around the edges with a black marker to cover the white cut edges.

On a piece of Bristol card stock, I masked off a 1.5″ strip then used Distress Oxide inks for a bit of ink blending. From left to right, I used Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, and Abandoned Coral. I used the Jet Black ink again to stamp the leaves and one of the sentiments from the same stamp set on the Bristol panel. To dress it up just a bit, I added some 1/8″ gold washi tape from the Year of Cheer washi tape set from Stampin’ Up!®.

To assemble the card, I adhered the Bristol panel to a top-folding card base made of white card stock from Catherine Pooler Designs. I adhered the sweet little mouse to the card using some thin foam squares which gave it just a tiny bit of dimension and that completed this clean and simple card.

I’m entering this card in the following challenges:

Until next time …

Hi Melissa! First of all this card is absolutely adorbs! Your coloring is fabulous and that Distress Oxide blended background is to die for! Secondly, a Tennessee girl, huh?? Well hello from Middle Tennessee and I’m a go Vols girl too! Unfortunately it’s been a sad season for us this year! Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for joining us at Stamp, Ink, Paper this week!

Thanks for stopping by, Tina. I’m a Middle Tennessee girl, too! My family all still live there. Yeah, it’s definitely been a sad season for us this year, but my blood will always run orange. As I always say, you might take me out of Tennessee, but you’ll never get me out of my orange leisurewear. 😉 Go Big Orange!!!
