November 2017 Paper Pumpkin Alternative

The much anticipated November Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin’ Up!® has started arriving to customers. The November kit, Back in Plaid, coordinates with the October kit, Pining for Plaid. I absolutely love the buffalo plaid design of these kits!! I do so love a good plaid. 🙂

The October kit made 10 adorable shaker cards. The coordinating November kit makes 10 stockings which are perfectly sized for gift cards, candy, treats, or any variety of small gift items.  The kit also includes a really cute stamp set and a Dapper Denim Stampin’ Spot ink pad. Rather than making one of the stockings, I decided to use the stamp set and ink pad to make an alternative card project instead.

Since the images are a smaller scale, I decided to use one of our Whisper White notecards which comes with coordinating envelopes. I started by stamping the snowflake image multiple times along the left side of the card to create a snowflake border. I then stamped the sentiment in the lower right corner of the notecard.

To fill in some of the vast amounts of white space on this card, I used the Dapper Denim Stampin’ Write Marker to flick on some ink splatters. For a bit of sparkle, I also flicked on some Wink of Stella splatters.

I decided to dress up the envelope a bit as well. I used some Post-It tape to mask off the flap of the envelope. I then used the snowflake stamp and Dapper Denim ink again to repeat stamp the snowflake over the entire flap. I staggered the position of each row to avoid have just straight rows of snowflakes. I think that gives a more pleasing appearance.

Before I sign off on this post, I just wanted to share that I received my new starter kit from Stampin’ Up!® I know a lot of people enjoy haul videos, so I thought I would share the haul video I recorded showing what I selected for my kit.

If you enjoy this type of thing, please let me know in the comments below. If there’s enough interest, I can record more of them in the future as I get new products. I’m definitely planning to record one in early December when I’ll be able to place my pre-order from the new Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs which will be launching for customers on January 3.

Until next time …
