Mel's Card Corner | Paradise Found Blog Hop

Happy Release Day!! The new Paradise Found release is now LIVE in Catherine Pooler’s online store. This release consists of eight GORGEOUS inks from her new Spa Collection, two new stamp sets (with available coordinating dies), a background stamp, and two new dies.

Products from the Naturally Inspired Stamp of Approval collection will also now be available for individual sale in Catherine’s store. The only exception is the All That Jazz ink pad from that collection. It won’t be available for purchase until some time in 2018. There will also be some new items in the Craft Essentials category, including the new Glass Slipper glitter from WOW! which is currently exclusive to Catherine’s store. Since there are so many things launching today, the easiest thing to do is just use the use the product links at the end of my post or check the What’s New section once you’re at Catherine’s store to find the new stuff all in one place.

As if all that weren’t enough, we’re also kicking off our big three-day blog hop today. Over the next few days, the Design Team will be sharing lots of projects to hopefully inspire you with just some of the things you can do with this amazing release.

You should have arrived here from Catherine’s blog, but if you didn’t, don’t worry. I’ll provide a list for today’s entire hop at the end of this post. So, let’s get to my cards for today’s hop, shall we?

Mel's Card Corner | Paradise Found Blog Hop

For my first card, you’ll really get a nice look at the new ink colors. I actually used seven of the eight new colors on this card. I also used the new background stamp along with the new Wonderful Time of the Year stamp set. I absolutely love the fonts on this sentiment!

Start by creating the background using the Plaid Background Stamp and Juniper Mist ink. Also use the Juniper Mist ink and a mini ink blending tool to sponge around the edges of a piece of white card stock to use as a mat for the focal panel.

Stamp the sentiment using Juniper Mist ink on a piece of white card stock slightly smaller than the mat layer . Stamp the pine boughs around the edges using Eucalyptus and Green Tea inks using a rock ‘n roll inking technique. Stamp the left ornament using Peppermint Scrub and Sauna inks, and the right ornament using Royal Treatment and Daydream inks. Stamp the ornament cap in VersaMark ink then heat emboss in silver. Use a VersaMarker to create the hanging ribbon for the ornaments and again, heat emboss in silver.

For my second card, I pulled in the Birds of a Feather stamp set from the Naturally Inspired Stamp of Approval collection along with the new coordinating Birds of a Feather Die set. Use a mini ink blending tool to completely cover the main layer with Green Tea ink then repeatedly stamp the feather using VersaMark ink and heat emboss using clear embossing powder. Use the script stamp from Birds of a Feather and Eucalyptus ink to repeatedly stamp the script over the entire background. Use a dry cloth to remove any excess ink from the embossed feathers. To complete the background, use a mini ink blending tool and light apply Icing on the Cake ink varying the amount of coverage around the layer. Again, use a dry cloth to remove any excess ink from the embossed feathers.

For the focal image, stamp the feather twice on white card stock using VersaMark ink. Heat emboss using gold embossing powder then die cut using the coordinating die. Use the smaller feather die to cut two feathers from vellum card stock. Place the feathers together and tie off using a piece of twine and adhere to the background panel using glue dots.

For the sentiment, use words from the Simply the Best stamp set from the Naturally Inspired collection. Stamp them on a strip of white card stock using VersaMark ink then heat emboss in gold. Trim the ends and adhere to the card to finish the design.

As you can see, these Spa Collection inks are just so perfect to use with the Naturally Inspired products because they are more “earthy” colors than the Party Collection. These inks will be awesome for not only nature-inspired cards, but for cards that are more vintage and/or masculine, too. I can’t wait to see what you all create with them!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I really hope you’ve enjoyed my cards. You’re next stop on our blog hop will be the amazing Jennifer Carter.

As promised earlier in this post, here’s a line up of all the participants in today’s blog hop for this release. Be sure to stop by and visit all of them to see their incredible creations!

Be sure to stop back tomorrow. I’ll have another card featuring products from the new Paradise Found release.

Until next time …

These are some very beautiful colors. I would call them Rich & Elegant :). I’ve ordered mine. Looking forward to giving them a try. I do not have any CP Ink yet.

  8. Ann Celino says:

I didn’t think I was going to use that feather stamp, but seeing the card you made, I’ve changed my mind. What color did you use for the initial coverage before stamping the feather in Versamark?

  9. Laura Miller says:

Those two greens make such luxurious cards. I noticed right away the 2-tones on the pine boughs. And the feather card is great with all the various techniques you used.

I’ve been wondering about a good way to use the script. Thanks for the great idea. As soon as my order arrives…
