Quick & Easy Thanksgiving Place Cards

I can’t believe Thanksgiving is just two days away! How on earth did THAT happen?! This year seems to just be flying by waaaaay too quickly. Since Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away, I thought it might be a good time to show how to create some cute quick & easy place cards for your Thanksgiving table. As an added bonus, I’ve even included a video tutorial.

The best way to create these place cards would be using a mass production technique. Rather than creating each place card individually, complete each step for all the cards you’ll need as you go. For example, do all the paper cutting at once, do all the stamping at once, then do all the die cutting at once, and so on. In the long run, that makes it much faster to knock out a large number of place cards fairly quickly.

Start by stamping the sentiment from the Labels to Love stamp set on a 2″ square piece of Very Vanilla card stock. Use Early Espresso and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write markers to ink up the sentiment. Once stamped, use the Layering Squares Framelits Dies to cut out the sentiment. Use the coordinating scalloped square from the same die set to cut out a mat layer from a 2″ square of Early Espresso card stock. Using tape runner, adhere the sentiment square to the scalloped square.

Next, I took a 15/16 x 3.5″ strip of Very Vanilla card stock and created a banner end using the Banner Triple Punch. To help it “pop” a bit against the DSP, I sponged around the edges using Early Espresso ink. This will be the place where you’ll write the names of your guests.

Now it was time to assemble the place card. Score a 4″ square of Very Vanilla Thick card stock at 2″ and burnish with a bone folder. Apply a piece of 1-3/4 x 3-3/4″ DSP to the place card. Adhere the name banner strip in the middle of the place card aligned to the right edge. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, place the sentiment square on the left end of the place card. All that’s left to do is add the names of your guests!

I’m entering this card in the following challenge:
