I can’t believe Christmas is only FOUR days away!! Like I’m sure many of you are as well, I’m super pressed for time right now trying to finalize all my holiday preparations. Here’s a quick last minute Christmas card you can create in no time at all. If you wanted to stay even more time, you could reduce the amount of coloring/shading a bit yet still achieve a really cute look without a major time commitment.
I started by stamping the front half of the snowman tag from the Seasonal Chums stamp set by Stampin’ Up!® on a piece of Whisper White card stock. I colored him using a variety of Stampin’ Blends markers (all the colors are linked below in the product list).
Once I had the snowman colored, I cut him out using one of the circles from the Layering Circle Framelits Dies. The circle I used is approximately 2-3/8″ in diameter. I then cut a coordinating scalloped circle from the same die set from Real Red card stock then adhered the two pieces together using Snail adhesive.
I created a top-folding card base from some Whisper White Thick card stock. For the background, I cut a piece of the plaid paper from the Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper stack to 3-7/8 x 5-1/8″ then matted it on a piece of Real Red card stock cut to 4 x 5-1/4″. I wrapped the matted DSP layer with a bit of Solid Whisper White Baker’s Twine then adhered it to the front of the card base using Snail adhesive. I adhered the snowman circle over the white baker’s twine popping it up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the sentiment, I stamped the ‘Tis the Season sentiment from the Christmas Pines stamp set on a 1/2″ strip of Whisper White card stock using Night of Navy ink. I thought the navy ink would be a nice contrast to a typical black ink sentiment, but still have a nice dark rich color. I fishtailed the ends of the sentiment strip then adhered it beneath the snowman circle using more Stampin’ Dimensions. For a final bit of bling, I added a generous coat of clear Wink of Stella over all the snowy parts of the snowman to give it a nice bit of shimmer and that completed my card.
As a reminder, today is the FINAL day Stampin’ Up will be producing stamps which are on the retiring list from our holiday catalog. Beginning tomorrow, all stamps will strictly be while supplies last through January 2. If there is a retiring stamp set you know you want, I would definitely recommend ordering it today to ensure you can get it before it sells out. Once items become a “while supplies last” item, they often sell out VERY quickly. The same is also true for any of the consumable products (ribbon, washi tape, DSP, etc) which are retiring. They are also only available while supplies last.
Until next time …
