I’m sharing a card today using one of the awesome coloring-friendly stamp sets available in the new Occasions catalog from Stampin’ Up!® The set is called Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts.
Start by stamping the flower cart image and sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock cut to 3-7/8 x 5-1/2″. Set the panel aside to allow the ink to dry completely.
While the ink is drying create a top-folding card base using Whisper White Thick card stock cut to 4-1/4 x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″. While you are cutting, also cut a piece of Calypso Coral card stock to 4 x 5-1/2″ to use as a mat for the focal pane. Set these pieces aside for now.
Once the ink on the stamped image is dry, it’s time to color. I used our Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers to color the image. Here are the colors I used:
- Canopy over the cart: Calypso Coral (Light and Dark)
- Basket on the cart: Crumb Cake (Light and Dark)
- Leaves and Grass: Old Olive (Light and Dark)
- Yellow Flowers: Daffodil Delight (Light and Dark)
- Pink Flowers: Pink Pirouette (Light and Dark)
- Bird: Night of Navy (Light)
- Heart: Cherry Cobbler (Light)
After the coloring is completed, adhere the focal panel to the Calypso Coral layer using Snail adhesive. Adhere the combined layer to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Since the coloring is really the star of the show on this card, I kept embellishments to a minimum. I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella to the flowers than added the smallest size pearl from the Pearl Basic Jewels to the center of each flower.
