Stamping with Lots of Lavender

One of my favorite stamp sets from this year’s Sale-a-Bration brochure from Stampin’ Up!® is Lots of Lavender. It’s a beautiful floral set that offers lots of coloring options. Over the next couple of days, I thought I would highlight a couple of those options.

I started by stamping the line art image from the stamp set on a panel cut from Whisper White card stock. I then used the two-step “watercolor” images to fill in all the areas of the line art image. Since these create a watercolor look, they don’t line up exactly, so you don’t even have to worry about getting things lined up perfectly. I used Berry Burst stamped off once for the flowers and full strength for the bow. I used Lemon Lime Twist for the leaves and stems.

After I had all the stamping done, I used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker to add some ink splatters on the panel. It’s really easy to do. Simply flick the brush nib of the marker against the inside of the cap toward the panel. As long as you aren’t doing it really hard, it won’t hurt your marker at all. Since I love black splatter on my cards, I purchased a separate Basic Black marker just for flicking purposes.

Since Lots of Lavender doesn’t include any sentiment images, I used one from another Sale-a-Bration set. The Thank You is from Heartfelt Blooms. I stamped it on a strip of Whisper White card stock then fishtailed the ends. To help it “pop” a bit more against the focal panel, I went around all the edges using the Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker.

To assemble the card, I matted the focal panel on a piece of Basic Black card stock. I then adhered that to a top folding card base made from Whisper White Thick card stock. For a finishing touch, I added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to all the flowers.

I’ll also be showing off another version of this card in the next day or so. Instead of all stamping, I’ll be using the Stampin’ Blends markers to color that version, so I hope you’ll stop by for that.

Until next time …
