Embossed Ombre Sentiments Using the Stamparatus

For today’s card and video, I thought I would share a technique that works great with the new Stamparatus stamp positioning tool from Stampin’ Up!®  This tool will be available beginning June 1 when the new 2018-2019 annual catalog launches, but some customers were able to get their hands on it early during a special pre-order event which happened in November and December. Since some of my customers do have the tool already, I’ll be using it from time to time to showcase the features and benefits of this awesome new tool.

The Stamparatus is great for stamping very large images like this beautiful sentiment from the Lovely Friends stamp set (retiring). If you happen to miss any areas the first time you stamp the image, the Stamparatus allows you to reink the stamp and position it in exactly the same spot so you can fill in any areas you may have missed. I took advantage of this ability to reink and stamp multiple times to create the beautiful ombre effect on this sentiment using inks in Berry Burst, Pool Party, and Bermuda Bay. To make it even easier on myself, I used the smaller inks pads in these colors which are part of the Picture Perfect Party Classic Stampin’ Spots set (retiring).

Once the sentiment was stamped, I inked it up again using VersaMark ink then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. Being able to stamp right in the same place again using VersaMark is another great benefit of the Stamparatus!

To complete the focal panel, I stamped a few of the leaf images from the same stamp set in opposing corners. I added some splatters to the card using Stampin’ Write Markers in the same colors I used for the sentiment.

I matted the panel on a piece of patterned paper from the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper pack. I then adhered that to a top-folding card base made from Berry Burst Cardstock.

I posted a process video as I created this card on my YouTube channel. You can watch it here on my blog, or head over to YouTube and watch it there. Regardless of where you choose to watch it, I would appreciate a “thumbs up” on my video at YouTube if you enjoyed it. By leaving video comments and giving me a thumbs up at YouTube, it helps other viewers find me and helps grow my channel. If you haven’t already subscribed to my channel, I would certainly welcome that, too!

Gorgeous card, simple but elegant! Loved your video and your attitude toward ‘whoopsies’ is quite honest and refreshing.
