Create Your Own DSP Using Swirly Frames

As soon as the saw the Swirly Frames stamp set in the new Stampin’ Up!® catalog, I had the idea of creating my own Designer Series Paper (DSP) using it. I used colors from the Nature’s Twine baker’s twine pack as the color inspiration.

Mel's Card Corner | Create Your Own DSP with Swirly Frames

I repeatedly stamped the two circular stamps using Grapefruit Grove, Mint Macaron, Tranquil Tide, and Blackberry Bliss inks on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. To keep the background from overpowering the sentiment, I stamped off each time before stamping on my Whisper White cardstock.

The sentiment is from the Love What You Do stamp set. I stamped it on a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock cut to 3-7/8 x 5-1/8″ using Versamark ink then heat embossed it using white Stampin’ Emboss powder. Once the embossing had cooled, I cut it out using the Tailored Tag Punch. NOTE: I stamped it a little bit away from the edge because I used this same piece of Blackberry Bliss as my mat for my DSP panel.

I trimmed down the DSP layer to 3-7/8 x 5-1/8″ then matted it on the Blackberry Bliss panel. I wrapped the panel three times with some of the Blackberry Bliss twine from the Nature’s Twine pack. Since the twines in this pack are a heavier weight, I finished it in a simple knot instead of tying a bow.

I created a top-folding card base using Grapefruit Grove cardstock. I adhered the matted DSP panel to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals then added the sentiment to the card, also using Dimensionals. As a final step, I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock to the inside of the card.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my card today. If you would like to purchase any of the products I used to create this card, please click here to visit my online store or shop anytime at
