It’s Your Bokeh Day

I thought I would share a card today that I made recently for a coworker celebrating a birthday. While I generally try to only use one or two stamp sets for a card, I actually combined three different stamp sets for this card. I think the final look was totally worth it though.

Mel's Card Corner | It's Your Bokeh Day

I stamped the background for my focal image using the Bokeh Dots stamp set and Mint Macaron ink on Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the balloon outside image from the Blow Out the Candles stamp set on the bokeh background then filled in the balloon using the balloon fill stamp from the same set and Tranquil Tide ink. To complete the focal image, I trimmed the bokeh panel to remove all the white borders then matted it on a piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock.

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, I temporarily placed the focal image centered on the panel for a placement guide. I lightly marked the corners with a pencil then removed the focal panel. I stamped the sentiment and swirl in opposite corners using the Tranquil Tide ink making sure to stay outside the pencil marks. Once the sentiment was dry, I erased the pencil marks then adhered the sentiment panel to a Tranquil Tide mat.

To assemble the card, I adhered the sentiment panel to a top-folding card base made from Mint Macaron cardstock using Snail adhesive. I then adhered the focal panel between the sentiment and swirl using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I decided to keep embellishments to a minimum since the sentiment is somewhat ornate. I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella over the balloon then added a coat of the Fine Tip Glue pen over that to add some shine and dimension. It will take an hour or so for the Fine Tip Glue Pen to dry, so take into consideration if you CASE this card.
